Frogs often lay eggs in the most unexpected places, some of which are totally unsuitable!

Anon, I suggest that you have a recce at some ponds local to your school. Almost any small pond that does not have fish in it stands a good chance of having frog spawn in it. Try and avoid the bigger ponds as you are much less likely to find frogs here.Barry Stewarthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12080358305675651314noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1419651078350989465.post-16119076018265497562011-02-16T01:18:10.547+00:002011-02-16T01:18:10.547+00:00where can i take the children to see some frogspaw...where can i take the children to see some frogspawn, as they are learning about it in school. which pond is it please, is it Fendrod Lake or the Pluck?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1419651078350989465.post-87166030746130484002011-02-15T20:37:43.754+00:002011-02-15T20:37:43.754+00:00just thought you'd be interested to know ... i...just thought you'd be interested to know ... i went out to check on the frog spawn today and found a lot more, including quite a bit in the grass surrounding the pond which i have moved into the water. i hope that was the right thing to do. seems our frogs are very busy this year!Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16397327641009083713noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1419651078350989465.post-80886834127534679242011-02-11T17:27:59.213+00:002011-02-11T17:27:59.213+00:00First lot of frogspawn in the pond today, in Brynm...First lot of frogspawn in the pond today, in Brynmill, Swansea.
Out of interest, the first sightings here over the last few years have been
2011 11 Feb
2010 15 Feb
2009 14 Feb
2008 22 Jan
2007 3 Feb
2006 12 Feb

The newts will be ok for their favourite food- froggy tadpoles- once again.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1419651078350989465.post-63556195590848888102011-02-10T09:56:43.150+00:002011-02-10T09:56:43.150+00:00not quite .. but not far away either. :)not quite .. but not far away either. :)Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16397327641009083713noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1419651078350989465.post-58994976856471567342011-02-09T23:27:47.311+00:002011-02-09T23:27:47.311+00:00Nice one Sue.
