Oxwich orchids

Lots of Broad leaved helleborine in flower in the Oxwich dunes today also 100s of Autumn lady's tresses many more than last year. Can anyone ID the smallish bumble bee on the helleborine ?

Very nice images David - I'd go for Bombus pascuorum (Common Carder-bee). Incidentally I saw 15+ Autumn Ladies-tresses growing on a small lawn outside the Harbour office in Swansea Docks today.

A good crop of Autumn Ladies-Tresses over here in the east too.

Great blog... I'll be on the Gower later this month, so will use your writings as a guide. Keep some shearwaters until then please!
