| The curved shoot tips are a useful indicator for spotting this species. |
This scarce species (
Philonotis caespitosa) was found on muddy ground in disturbed, rather species-poor Sharp-flowered Rush-pasture (M23a) last week, also a good population of Meadow Thistle (
Cirsium dissectum) in adjacent rank
Molinia pasture (M24). It's the fist time I've looked at this area and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of plants in some of the fields.
