Lots of Water Pipits at Neath Saltmarsh

With a lot of summer migrants being held up at customs, at the Kenfig river! A quick check on one of our winter visitors due to leave soon, was in order. There was a small flock of 13 pipits flying around the saltmarsh, this morning. It was difficult to id them all, but at least 6 were Water Pipits. Most of them in summer plumage, like the one below. Only 1 Meadow Pipit was seen in the area today and that flew in separately. They will be leaving for breeding grounds shortly, so you'll need to be quick if you want to see them in their summer glory. These links http://goweros.blogspot.com/2010/01/water-pipit-city.html and http://goweros.blogspot.com/2010/03/water-pipits-at-neath-saltmarsh.html describe earlier encounters with this species at this site.

They look like they're in tip-top condition. Great record.
