Snakes in the grass...

This was the paler of two Grass Snakes seen in the Nitten Field, Mewslade today enjoying the change in temperature.
A Tree Pipit was also seen in the field, and nearby first thing in the morning Jem Howe Heard both Cuckoo and Grasshopper Warbler. The only butterly seen here today was a Green-veined White.

Great shot Barry. I've only ever seen them swimming. Do they need water? If so, how far will they have to travel to get to the nearest source water?

Nearest small pond only 100m or so away, though I suspect they're not restricted to to this habitat.
