I met Dave & Wendell at Wernffrwd on the ‘big tide’ this evening. There were lots of terns moving west along the south shore before the tide peaked, including many birds resting on the posts. We counted 107 Common Terns, but only managed to pick out 1 Arctic and estimated there must have been 200+ Sandwich Terns. Waders and gulls were flying all over the place as they were pushed off their usual roost sites and 127 Greylag flew over, coming from WWT and heading out to an unknown destination in west Gower, as they do every evening.
The light was better for photographs on yesterday’s ‘not so big tide’. The ponies at Penclawdd were almost out of their depth yesterday, but thankfully they had the good sense to come 'ashore' this evening! The view from Pont-y-Cob Road yeserday evening was pretty special despite the overhead wires (no digital enhancement required for this one)...
