Little Gulls and Black Terns at Eglwys

I got a very welcome call from George Morgan while I was at Crymlyn Burrows informing me that both Black Terns and Little Gulls were flying around the res. I managed only to get a poor record shot of a juv Little Gull in fading light. There were 2 Little Gulls present 1 juv and 1 2nd winter. Also present when I got there were 3 juv Black Terns.

It was noticeable that these surface feeding birds followed the areas of water that were in the sun, as the sun was setting. Something I hope to remember for next time. Also of note were 350+ Black-headed Gulls and 2 Goosander
