Bewick's Swan at Kenfig

Neil Donaghy found this cracking adult Bewick's Swan on Kenfig this morning. Luckily it has stuck around for a number of birders to catch up with. With the Whooper Swans turning up on Eglwys last month still fresh in my mind it was a real bonus to see the differences between the two. Cheers Neil, on another very nice find!

Too kind Jeff. Thanks though. Sid was telling me it took a bit of stick from a Mute Swan early on and nearly flew off on one occasion. However, while I was there it seemed quite settled among the Mutes (Brutes!) I hope it sticks around till the weekend for you. Cheers

This looks like quite a small bird, even by Bewick's standards. Very nice shots Mark.

Whilst waiting for MH to arrive the Swan flew around the pool four times and at one point towered up about 30 feet into the east wind. But it seemed to weak to make it away and dropped back down. Nice vid Mark and my raptor was a Buzzard after.
