Mark Hipkin and myself ventured out onto Worm's Head this morning hoping for a migrant bonanza. Although it wasn't nearly half as good as hoped for the walk and views were still most enjoyable. Our highights included totals of 2 Balearic Shearwaters, 2 Arctic Skuas, 70+ White Wagtails (mostly on the Crabart) and 1 Yellow Wagtail (again on the musselbeds of the Crabart). 3 Collared Doves at Kitchen Corner were unexpected, though not as unexpected as 2 I saw on the outer Worm in June 2006.
There were 12 Grey Seals hauled out in the north side of the Inner Head and another in the water which approached reasonably close (above).
