These incredible aerial photographs of Cwm Ivy Marsh in full flood were taken last Sunday morning (22nd) by Gordon Howe during monitoring carried out by the Gower Society. The image shows the tide as having dropped away to the right of the sea wall, but the water that has flooded in through the seawall breach, covering the 33ha of Cwm Ivy Marsh, is temporarily held up by the narrow exit point. The site is owned and managed by the National Trust and a very exciting habitat creation scheme is being led by NRW. The potential for creating really valuable wetland habitats is clear to see from the top image.

Funny, I thought that as I wandered round the back last saturday. Glad it's happening, let's hope someone puts in some hide/s.
I've heard there are plans for hides ;-)
One hide has been delivered and will be in place by 31 March (50th anniversary of Enterprise Neptune, which bought Whitford as its first acquisition)and a second one is due shortly
P.S.
Fantastic photos!
Really great photos and project as a whole. It will be fascinating to see how things progress.
Do any of you appreciate the destruction that has been caused to the fresh water marsh that was there? There is also the issue of the sea wall that has now collapsed due to mis-management and neglect, taking away one of the best walks on Gower which also forms part of the coastal footpath.
