Minotaur Beetle at Rhossili


Yesterday morning up on Rhossili Down Mark and myself came across a male specimen of the spectacular Minotaur Beetle (Typhaeus typhoeus), the first time I have seen this species in Gower.

Or another way to say it is that Barry found this beetle. Which on a different day would have easily have been the highlight. Good photos too.

Barry, found my only one of these at Mewslade Valley in May 2005.
